Ground source heat pump

Available Summer 2012.

Designed for homes with underfloor heating, Itho’s ground source heat pumps alleviate both extremes of the temperature scale.

Reaching to a depth of 90 – 150 metres, the pump extracts heat from the ground, increases its temperature and feeds it into the home to provide a warm, comfortable interior. At night, the pump warms the domestic hot water storage tank.

Highly efficient (CoP>5), the pump is powerful enough to satisfy 80% of the modern dwelling’s heating needs from soil alone.

In the summer, the heat exchanger, a closed plastic pipe, brings the coolness in the ground into the dwelling.

Thermal outputs in the Itho ground source heat pump model line-up range from 3.5kW to 7.5kW.
